Privacy policy & support
Running Tab reads your active energy and workout data from Apple Health, does its arithmetic on your device, and stores your preferences on your device. That is the entire data story.
With your permission, the app reads active energy, resting energy (only if you enable that option), workouts, and your Activity ring summary from Apple Health. Access is read-only — Running Tab never writes anything to Health.
Nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, no accounts, no third-party services. The app makes no network connections to us — because there is no "us" server to connect to.
Your settings — selected drink, favorites, custom drinks you build, appearance choices — are stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch and synced directly between them using Apple's device-to-device connection. They are included in your device backups under your control.
It never logs what you eat or drink, never sells or shares data (there is nothing to sell), and never sends your health information anywhere. The drink figures shown are unit conversions of your activity — a way to picture a number, not a record of consumption.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
Running Tab is made by one person. Email therunningtabapp@icloud.com with anything at all — a bug, a drink that should be in the catalog, a calorie figure you think is wrong. Real replies, usually within a few days.
Running Tab shows the energy Apple Health has recorded for today. If Health has nothing yet, there is nothing to convert. Check that the app has permission: Settings → Apps → Health → Data Access & Devices → Running Tab, and make sure the categories are on. You can also reach this from the app's own Settings tab.
You don't need one. Running Tab reads whatever writes active energy to Apple Health — an iPhone on its own, or Garmin, Whoop, Oura, Peloton and most other trackers.
Widgets and complications refresh on a schedule the system controls, so they can trail the app by a few minutes. Opening the app updates them.
Catalog figures are standard servings from published nutrition panels, and real-world pours vary a great deal — bar and café drinks most of all. If a number matters to you, build your own drink in the Library with the figure you trust.
Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Nothing of yours exists anywhere else. To revoke its access to Health independently, use Settings → Apps → Health → Data Access & Devices.
